We have been excited to welcome two new trustees to our Board in the last few months. Both have a wealth of experience in different fields and a passion for making Norfolk a better place.

Stephen Wright is one of them. Stephen has been in senior management positions in Hospitality for over 25 years. He is currently Commercial and Visitors Services Director at Norwich Theatre. He has worked within Education, Hotel sectors and now at the Theatre, where he uses his extensive experience to ensure the Theatre continues to thrive.

To celebrate Trustees’ Week, we asked Stephen why he decided to become a trustee:

“I’ve been fortunate in my career, holding senior management positions in Norfolk for the past twenty years. Now, I want to help others succeed. Since COVID, I’ve been considering voluntary work, and Voluntary Norfolk was an obvious choice.

“I’ve always admired Voluntary Norfolk’s outstanding work. When the opportunity to join as a Trustee arose, I was delighted. I’m quickly learning about the depth and breadth of its work. Joining at this exciting time, with a new CEO and refreshed strategy, fills me with pride. I’m contributing to something special that will benefit Norfolk communities now and for the next 50 years.

“Volunteering is not only kind but also supports personal development and well-being. Giving back has positive health benefits, and I encourage anyone considering voluntary work to visit Get InVOLved Norfolk to get started.”
