Gearing up to the Gorleston Christmas Lights Switch On
Get ready to kick off the festive season with a day of Christmas fun! Freshly Greated, part of Voluntary Norfolk, is bringing their brilliant “Play, Produce, Promote” project to this year’s Gorleston Christmas lights switch-on. They’ve put together a fantastic line-up of young local musicians who will be performing live throughout the day, filling the air with festive tunes and spreading Christmas cheer. Whether you’re there for the lights, the music, or just to soak up the holiday spirit, Freshly Greated’s got everything you need for a day full of festive fun!
What’s happening as part of the Gorleston Christmas Lights Switch On?
This year’s event will take over Gorleston High Street on Sunday, 17th November, from midday until 6:30 pm, with loads of exciting activities and entertainment to enjoy. There’s something for everyone, so bring your family and friends along for a day out that’s sure to get you in the Christmas mood!
If you fancy a bit of Christmas shopping, you’re in luck! The high street will be lined with stalls selling all sorts of handmade crafts, unique gifts, and delicious festive food and drink to keep you going. Plus, all the local shops will be open too, so you can tick off your Christmas shopping while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Harbour Radio will be playing all your favourite Christmas songs throughout the day to keep the festive spirit alive, and for even more entertainment, head to The Vault from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for some extra fun activities.
There’s also something special for the kids! The festive Elf Trail kicks off and finishes at The Vault. Children can pick up a leaflet and search for decorated skateboards hidden in shop windows along the high street. Each skateboard will have a letter on it, and once all the letters are found, they can be unscrambled to spell out a Christmas word. Once the trail is completed, kids can return their leaflet to The Vault’s Christmas Grotto to claim a small gift and be entered into a prize draw!
